The BC Mogul Team just arrived home from a 3-week training camp in Idre, Fjäll, Sweden, where they refined their skills on an entire mogul course while preparing for the season’s first competition. After a whole summer of training on air sites and mogul lines, it was great to finally see the athletes be able to put together top to bottom.

The snow conditions were less than ideal, with some days just pure ice. However, everyone still managed to do their best tricks and practiced adapting to a changing course, just as how it could be on any competition day.

After ten days of training, the athletes were ready for the FIS Open, producing fantastic results. Quinn Dawson finished highest in the men’s field with a 7th on the first day and a 12th on the second. On the women’s side, Maya Mikkelsen, Lynnette Conn, and Malica Malherbe all made finals on the first day, finishing 7th, 14th, and 15th. Maya and Lynnette also made the finals on the second day of the competition, finishing 6th and 7th.

This was just a warm-up for the upcoming season of events, as the team is now training for Canadian Selections in Apex, BC, at the end of December. Everyone at Freestyle BC is delighted with the efforts of the athletes and coaches and looks forward to seeing what will come from the competition season.
