Apex Classic Mogul Event
December 22, 2021
Curious how many people noticed our fine feathered friends flying above the mogul course at Apex this weekend? It’s hard for me not to think of our friends who are no longer with us, now watching over us. But, regardless of our beliefs, it was a sight to see as our winged friends watched the athletes and officials during the Apex Classic Mogul event.
What an amazing weekend for the BC Mogul Team! After nearly two years of training, we were finally able to reap the rewards of an incredible amount of hard work. The entire team performed extremely well, with major highlights in the performances of Sam Cordell & Jessie Linton, who both walked away with gold & silver medals. We are incredibly proud of these two and our entire group of athletes and can’t wait to ride this wave of success into the remainder of the competition season! ~ Head Coach, Josh Kober
As a sports fan, I was reduced to tears on multiple occasions as I watched these talented athletes perform on-demand after a 2 + year hiatus from competition. Congratulations to all BC and Prospect Team athletes for throwing down personal bests. This is indeed an excellent indication of the strength of our athletes, coaches and support teams. ~ Executive Director, Josh Dueck
Events like these are never easy to host, and when you add a two-year break into a brave new world of rules and regulations, the scope of work to pull it off indeed takes a village. Thank you to the volunteers at Apex Freestyle, Evan Phillips, Gayle Finlayson, Brian Spence and the many others who worked tirelessly to hold this sacred space and host a world-class event for the athletes. Events like this also would not have been possible without the support of Apex Mountain Resort and Freestyle Canada.
Official results from both events can be found on our events –> results page.
