Club Coach – Terrace

Goal: Developing fundamental instructional skills for kids in Freestyle Ski programs. Learn teaching progressions of freestyle specific skills and mechanics in. • Mogul skiing skills • Park and Halfpipe skills • Air skills Equipment: Helmet, tuned skis, poles Performance expectations: Demonstrate basic skills in Moguls, Slopestyle and rails. An assessment is done on the coach candidate. Prerequisites: Active Freestyle Canada membership license. Facilitator: Chance Healey Cost: $375 Number of Days: 3 Registration closes March 19th, 2017.

Panorama Slopestyle and Mogul Spring Camp

The freeski academy invites athletes to attend our 2017 high preformance mogul and slopestyle spring camp Panorama Mountain closes its lifts to the public on April 17th, we have teamed up with Panorama Mountain Freeride Club, and for the two weeks after the lifts have closed we will have exclusive use of the mogul and slopestyle facility’s. The Air 1 course teaches basic acrobatics on trampoline. Goal: Introduce acrobatic/tramp foundational skills for Freestyle Skiing. Performance expectations: Demonstrate basic uprights, hand, front knee, seat drop, and on and off axis invert progression moves. Prerequisites: CFSA membership license, good basic tramp skills Number of Days: 2 Cost: $349 for members of the CFSA, $449 for Gymnastics or Snowboard. ADVANCE ACROBATICS ON TRAMPOLINE Teach advanced acrobatics/gymnastic skills up to twisting singles Performance Expectations: Understand basic tramp acrobatic mechanics and invert progressions. The 2018 BC Winter Games is headed for Kamloops with Freestyle Skiing events taking place at beautiful Sun Peaks Mountain Resort. Athletes will compete in moguls, slopestyle and big air. More details will be available fall 2017. Interested athletes and coaches should review the selection criteria.
