Club Coach – Terrace

Goal: Developing fundamental instructional skills for kids in Freestyle Ski programs. Learn teaching progressions of freestyle specific skills and mechanics in. • Mogul skiing skills • Park and Halfpipe skills • Air skills Equipment: Helmet, tuned skis, poles Performance expectations: Demonstrate basic skills in Moguls, Slopestyle and rails. An assessment is done on the coach candidate. Prerequisites: Active Freestyle Canada membership license. Facilitator: Chance Healey Cost: $375 Number of Days: 3 Registration closes March 19th, 2017.

Air 1 – Squamish

The Air 1 course teaches basic acrobatics on trampoline. Goal: Introduce acrobatic/tramp foundational skills for Freestyle Skiing. Performance expectations: Demonstrate basic uprights, hand, front knee, seat drop, and on and off axis invert progression moves. Prerequisites: CFSA membership license, good basic tramp skills Number of Days: 2 Cost: $349 for members of the CFSA, $449 for Gymnastics or Snowboard. ADVANCE ACROBATICS ON TRAMPOLINE Teach advanced acrobatics/gymnastic skills up to twisting singles Performance Expectations: Understand basic tramp acrobatic mechanics and invert progressions. Are able to handspot athletes on trampoline for back tuck. Candidates will be asked to attempt inverted manouevres progressions, demonstrate knowledge of moves and progressions through coaching.
