BC Mogul Team Goes to Sweden
December 3, 2021
The BC Mogul Team has recently returned from Idre Fjall Sweden to kick off the season with a training camp and double-header competition amongst the world’s best.
The team all met in Stockholm, Sweden and the athletes took advantage of exploring the rich cultured city for a few days before heading north to Idre Fjall. What was their favourite part of Stockholm? It may involve day passes on the Lime Scooters to navigate the narrow cobblestone streets and endless bridges.
The training was full-on, with two training blocks a day on the mogul course. Our provincial athletes were surrounded by many national teams from around the world. It was a great learning curve to ski side-by-side with the best mogul skiers gearing for the Olympic Games.
The coaching roster was in motion, with Josh Kober running a fantastic training camp that made a massive impact on the progression of the BC Team for the upcoming season. Cam Smith joined in as an auxiliary coach to help with managing the team during training on and off the snow. The athletes also benefited by having extra support staff during training days from national team members Jordan Kober, Elliot Vaillancourt, and Alexandre Lavoie.
After two weeks of training, the athletes were tested to compete at the Swedish Mogul Cup against world-class athletes, fighting for their Olympic spots. Idre Fjall was an incredible event on a physically demanding course. But, overall, each athlete put down a memorable run in the two days to come home being proud.
