BC Team droppin’
February 8, 2022
After a couple of years of no competition to test our mettle, it seemed like it may never happen… and now, within the past two months, we turned that contest dial to FIRE IT UP! Both our Mogul and Park squad have been taking full advantage of the Canada Cup and NorAm circuit and making their dreams come true, as well making the old nerds like me in the office super proud! ~ DUECK
Coach Kober update: The BC Mogul Team is coming off a big weekend at our stomping grounds at Apex. Many personal best results, including a top 10 from Sam Cordell, a finals appearance from Alex Mysko & Maya Mikkelsen, and a podium performance from Jessie Linton! We’re now halfway through our Noram Tour and will be heading to the east coast for our next events this week. Stay tuned to see the crew build on this great start to the season!
Coach Apps update: The BC Park and Pipe team went to Mammoth Mountain, California for their first stop of the NorAm Cup. The doubleheader slopestyle event brought some of the best skiers in North America, and the sunny California weather set the stage for an amazing competition.
On day one, Skye Clarke kicked off the women’s slopestyle event with a bang with 5th place, scoring the highest rail score of the day. In his competition, Mitch Steven placed 11th in a stacked men’s final, linking a right dub 10 to a left dub 14.
On day two, Caoimhe Heavey leads the charge, putting down a huge cork 900 earning her 4th place in the women’s slopestyle event. And Alec Henderson finished the competition in 8th place, linking a right dub 12 to a left switch dub 16.
The team is now in their main competition phase of the season. Seven of the athletes will be competing in the Canada Cup at Sun Peaks this week before travelling and meeting the rest of the team at the NorAm Cup stops in Calgary and Aspen.
