Over the past few months, we have engaged in multiple conversations on the importance of clear and concise board governance and witnessed a variety of formats in which a board can operate. A strong foundation, clearly defined roles, updated policies, and processes can go a long way in building confidence and creating efficiencies to make the experience for the board a positive and memorable experience.
A healthy board will attract and retain volunteers that want to share their skills and passions to grow your community, and a sound strategy will support succession so that no one carries the lion’s share.
