Freestyle Canada announces NextGen Park & Pipe Team

Julie Steggall, director of high performance athlete development at Freestyle Canada, announced the 2017 National NextGen Park & Pipe Team. Congratulations to BC Park & Pipe Team athlete Patrick Dew. Patrick has now been officially named to the National Park & Pipe Team during this morning’s announcement. Patrick joins Elena Gaskell who was named to the National team program earlier this year.

Halfpipe

  • MacKenzie Wilson (Whistler)
  • Mitchel Wilson (Whistler)

Slopestyle

  • Elena Gaskell (Silver Star)
  • Sofia Tchernetsky (Whistler)
  • Patrick Dew (Silver Star)
  • Tanner Gordon (Silver Star)
  • Noah Morrison (Silver Star)

Brandon Reid (Vancouver) and Taylor Wilson (Whistler) also announced their retirement from the team. “We would like to wish these athletes the best of luck in the future in whatever they decide to pursue. Both these athletes have dedicated their lives to this sport, putting other things on hold while focusing on skiing and we have truly enjoyed watching and supporting them. All the best in the future boys!” said Steggall. Both Brandon and Taylor have had amazing careers and we hope to see their continued involvement in the sport.
