Kiera Leung appointed BC Mogul Team Head Coach

October 22, 2015

BC Freestyle is excited to announce that 7 year veteran of the Canadian National Team, Kiera Leung, will be joining the BC Freestyle’s High Performance coaching team. Kiera will take over from Jeff Fairburn as Head Coach of the BC mogul program.

Kiera is a BC born and raised freestyle skier that moved up through Vancouver Freestyle and the BC Provincial Team. Kiera has extensive competition experience and has been coached at the highest levels by the best coaches in the world. Kiera has struggled with injury over the past few years and has become a student of coaching and mogul skiing as she worked to rehabilitate her knee. An impressive technical knowledge of mogul skiing, remarkable competitive instincts coupled with a desire to build the best program in Canada, gives us confidence that, without a doubt, Kiera will be successful in her new role.
A commitment from former Canadian National Team coaches Andrew Clough and Adrian Taggart to mentor Kiera, in parallel with an aggressive professional development plan will ensure that BC Team planning, periodization and program development will rival any program currently being offered.

Kiera is extremely excited to get started with the athletes and begin building the program. “I am so happy to be joining the BC Mogul team as head coach. I can’t wait to share my experiences with this group of young, up and coming kids. I know I can provide this team with the knowledge to succeed and help this program become the best and strongest in the country.”

On behalf of myself and BCFSA I would like to thank Jeff Fairburn for his dedication to the BC Freestyle Ski Team over the past 3 years. Jeff, you will be missed.

Please join me in welcoming Kiera Leung to our team. Kiera, we have no doubt that you will lead our team to new heights!
Sincerely,

Adrian Taggart
Interim President BCFSA
