March 11, 2017

After 6 weeks on the road 18 year old Vernon Freestyle Skier Patrick Dew finishes second in the NorAm Cup for Freestyle Skiing.

Highlights of Patrick’s season include a first place finish at Mt St Louis Moonstone in Ontario, a third place finish at Seven Springs Pennsylvania and his first World Cup appearance in Quebec City.

Patrick started his training with the Silver Star Freestyle Club, currently skis for Freestyle BC team but has his eye on the Canadian National team. Patrick was inspired by other local freestyle ski champions such as 2009 Slopestyle X-Games champion TJ Schiller and Half Pipe Olympian Justin Dorey.

Patrick has been supported in part by Vernon based Skevik Skis who’s hand made skis have help propel Patrick to the top of the podium. Dew is also grateful for the support he receives from Smith Optics. Patrick graduated from Vernon Secondary School in 2016, he juggles skiing with online courses as he pursues a career in Automotive engineering. When he is home, Patrick works part time at his family’s business Hogarth’s Clinic Pharmacy.
